Renée Reed is a singer-songwriter and fiddle player from southwest Louisiana, blending the traditional Cajun music she grew up with and a deep love for folk and pop.

She learned to play fiddle and guitar and sang traditional songs from a young age, growing up in the heart of Lafayette, Louisiana’s music scene alongside her parents, both musicians themselves. Her background in folk music runs deep, but she’s equally influenced by artists like Kate Bush, The Beatles, Nick Drake, Françoise Hardy, and other outsider art—creating a sound that is rooted, emotional, and transportive.

Renée describes her music as fantasy folk—songs that explore memory, love, ancestry, and the honest expression of emotions. Her self-titled debut album, recorded at home on a cassette four-track, was praised for its intimate and haunting atmosphere, drawing comparisons to artists like Jessica Pratt and Mazzy Star.

In addition to her solo work, she plays fiddle in The Holiday Playgirls and continues to perform both original and traditional music.
